A Feral Infestation

I am back in my ancestral home dealing with a rather intense situation. Still, as the world turns, it has become very evident that in the years of my exiled absence, a feral infestation of non-native beasts have taken over my old neighborhood.



Let me introduce you all to Paco and his merry band of thieves. His plumed hoard of miscreants roost on a large tree, a few blocks away. In the mornings I can see them stretching-out their wings as they ready themselves for the day's adventures. In a flash, all eight of them take flght and squack their way out yonder. But by clock-work around sunset, they all descend for a greedy dinner of Royal Palm Nuts, and tender shoots sprouting on the trees in front of our home.

When you think of feral animals, cuddly feathered parrots are not the first ones to come to mind, isn't it?

As my time down here in the Island of Tropical Breezes draws to a close, I'm sure to miss my new featherd friends and my new evening ritual.

Maryland's Psycho Contortions

You walk into a shrink's office and he asks you: "Und vat do you zee, in diz pickture, Ja"?



Why, it's our brand-spanking-new Maryland 3rd Congressional District, of course!



Under our governor's gracious plan, the whole state is sliced and diced into a eight of *er* creative districts. 


Contrary to common belief, once you get away from Baltimore City, and Montgomery and Prince George's  Counties (the counties bordering D.C.), Maryland is quite a conservative state.  The problem is, that these three jurisdictions hold the population's center of gravity.  Thus, Demoncrats outnumber Republicans 6-to-4 Statewide.  So what to do, to strangle the Republican minority into quiescence? Why - Use Baltimore City, Montgomery and Prince George's, as a Demoncratic ATM Vote Machine, of course.

In the case of the 3rd Congressional District, Conservative Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County (Annapolis), is clumped with reliably Demoncratic Montgomery County and Baltimore City.  But to do so, the resulting district map must do sinewy calisthenics beyond comprehension.  It is so distorted, that the district's western border won't even fit in its official government issued map (See Above).

I could go on and rant about the other districts, but I'm gonna let you go with the 4th District.  A district that cuts a slippery path from Demoncratic Prince George's County and marries it with Conservative Anne Arrundel County.  It's of cold comfort to report that the 4th's, offending borders run just half a mile outside from my home:

Facebook approaches us with the seductive convenience of making available to us free instant communication that would otherwise be impossible. It allows us to interconnect with others but at a double-edged unnoticed price. Kind of like the way a tapeworm makes its host feel temporarily satiated and happy while sucking the life-force out of you.

Well, Facebook is collecting all comments in its vast network that contain the word "Obama". It is busily cataloging and assembling them in one convenient page for dissection amongst those in the know.

Happy National Grandparents Day

And here I was thinking that we were somberly remembering the atrocities that occurred one bright Tuesday morning, ten Septembers ago, but Nooo. We are supposed to rejoice on our Apa and Noni.

Some have quipped that for the last three decades National Grandparents Day has become a tradition on our land. That's wonderful. My point is that our C-in-C is purposely obfuscating, diluting and taking away from the central meaning of what September 11th has become to our nation. What did our President do on Sunday September 11th, 2005?

He issued a proclamation declaring Three Days of Prayer and Remembrance. During which, he stated:

During these Days of Prayer and Remembrance, we give thanks to the Almighty for our freedom, and we acknowledge our dependence on the Giver of this gift. Four years after September 11, 2001, we remember the lives lost and pray for God's continued blessings on their families and our Nation.

He also declared this day Patriots Day 2005. And what's the purpose of this day?

As we mark this solemn anniversary, I call upon all our citizens to express their patriotism and their gratitude for the blessings of liberty. By flying the flag, supporting military families, and teaching young people about our founding ideals, we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and since, and we help preserve our freedom for future generations.

A look on the list of Imprimatur-giving Presidential Proclamations, does not bring attention to National Grandparents Day, nor other distractions.

Contrast that to this year's National Gramps/Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance Day.

But first, Pelosi's Congress Changes Patriots Day to include a National Day of Service in which according to THE LAW:

...provide other support to community-based organizations to assist in planning and carrying out appropriate service, charity, and remembrance opportunities in conjunction with the September

11th National Day of Service and Remembrance

Please note the mandate for Community-Based Organizations, i.e. funnel our remembrance activities towards leftist structured organizations.

And what does he asks from us to do on Sept 11th?

honor those lost by expressing patriotism and gratitude for blessings of liberty. By flying the flag, supporting military families, and teaching young people about our founding ideals?

Then of course, he further misdirects us on our focus of the day by pointing our how much we must love our Grandparents that day. A minor point perhaps, but purposeful none-the-less.

Teamsters Thuggery

By now, you have all gnashed your teeth at The Teamsters latest example of thuggish language:



An exuberant example of stump-speech rhetoric? Perhaps. But when the Teamsters talk like that, I listen. For I remember well what happens when their hate speech (EXACTLY like Hoffa's) and followed by their direct action, murdered 96 innocents souls.

I was back home for the holidays December 31st, 1986. Teamsters Local 901 was shaking-down the old Dupont Plaza Hotel for a labor contract for the hotel's maintenance employees. In typical Teamster bluster, they took out radio spots, condemning Dupont Plaza's management with the most vile and intimidating language. In their spots, they actually threatened them to give-in or they would be taken-out. Just like Hoffa did this weekend. I remember well those spots, for they ran contrary to all the good Christmas cheer of the season.

Early in the afternoon, of New Year's eve, all maintenance employees get together in one of the hotel's meeting-rooms. They get riled-up by their shop-stewards, and overwhelmingly vote for STRIKE. As the rabid mob files out of the meeting-room. One goon lights-up a can of Sterno under one of the fabric chairs, and well this is what happened:

Given the radio threats to blow-up the hotel, and their fiery stance with the local press in days prior to the conflagration. Once they did blow up the hotel, The Teamsters sent in their heavy hitters from CONUS, to expertly confuse and obfuscate the sad trail of events. The center-leftist governor quickly dropped the matter, and In the end, a lowly lackey took the fall.

Anyways, from that point on, I do take keen attention to the Teamsters and their happy remarks.

Gustavo Come Moco

The year was 1969. One of my pre-kinder classmates whose name was Gustavo, always had his fingers up his nose, prospecting for a snack. He quickly gained the moniker: Gustavo-Come-Moco. He immediately ceased to be Gustavo, or Gus, but hence fourth be came Gustavocomemoco (Gustaff-the-booger-eater).

To this day, I have no idea what ever happened to Gustavocomemoco and his dietary habits. But to judge by the picture below, I never would have guessed that his child one day would have the First Lady visit his day-care center.

Oh I dunno, Let's take this in for perspective: It took from Washington to Reagan to make a $1-T debt. It took from Reagan to Clinton to reach our $5-T debt-point. It took eight years for Bush-43 to rack-up another $5-T. And in your short 30-Month rule, you''ve burnt through another $5-Trillion.

Then at (1:00) he blunders:

It means taking on spending in our domestic programs and our defense programs

We won't fall for those putative cuts that are projected 10-years into the future and are never carried-out by future Congresses. Tip O'Neil snookered Reagan into it. Same thing happened to Bush-41 back in 1990.

Followed at (1:05) by this little gem:

It means addressing the challenges in programs like Medicare so we can strengthen those programs and protect them for future generations.

Oh, like the way you raided $500-Billion out of Medicare in order to Rube-Goldberg your 'Bammy-Care?

On his next breath at (1:08):

And it means taking on spending in the tax code – spending on tax breaks and deductions for the wealthiest Americans.

Spending on the tax code. Since when does the tax code spend? Tax Breaks don't spend, your profligate pork does! And lay-off envy hatred and resentment. They are all negative demonic emotions, used by Socialists to pit one group against the other.

At (1:41) the De-Barred Constitutional Lawyer blurts:

And we agree that we simply cannot afford to default on our national obligations for the first time in our history;

Yes - The State of Illinois Bar summarily took-away his and Michelle's law licenses in 2008. To date, no credible journalist wants to look into it. But you must have done something REALLY bad to be thrown-out as an officer of the court. But I digress. Section 4 of the 14th Amendment to our Constitution reads:

The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law... shall not be questioned.

Meaning that come hell or high-water, The U.S. WILL NOT DEFAULT [PERIOD]. And if we do default, it is because you Mr. President, made a unilateral decision to question the validity of public debt against The Constitution that you swore to uphold and defend.

At (1:51) he goes on:

With a recovery that’s still fragile and isn’t producing all the jobs we need, the last thing we can afford is the usual partisan game-playing in Washington

Sure and with your constant attacks on the wealth generators of this country, what else do you expect other than "Growth-less Recoveries" as far as the eye can see. Knock-it-off with YOUR games Mr. President.

Then he has the gall at (2:02):

By getting our fiscal house in order, Congress will be in a stronger position to focus on some of the job-creating measures I’ve already proposed – like putting people to work rebuilding America’s infrastructure, or reforming our patent system so that our innovators and entrepreneurs have a greater incentive to generate new products, or making college more affordable for families.

Translation: When we raise your taxes, we can go on spending some more. And wasn't that the purpose of TARP? To lay pipe, build bridges, roads and sewers? If you didn't piss it all away on your cronies to advance your Socialist agenda, we'd have something to show for it for future generations.

At (2:27):

And businesses that may be holding back because of the uncertainty surrounding the possibility of a default by the U.S. government...

Businesses are holding-back because of all the uncertainty that you've injected into our regulatory and fiscal systems - YOU DOLT! And we will only default only because you yourself will be committing an impeachable offense - SCARE-MONGERER!

I could go on, but this entry is getting too long for my catharsis. There are many other nits to pick on this. Can you add some of your own?
